GUYS WE DID IT!!!

You all chipped in and help raise funding for Queenie's shipping, raised funding for some great stretch goal stickers (3! Sheets!) and a plush shiba keychain! And some pins (3! pins!).  We wanted to post a little update on what's next for the project and about the Book Reprint Stretch Goal.

Preorder Store

The Preorder Store is now open!  If you're coming in late to the project, you'll be able to order Queenie and other fantastic fox goodies now.

Surveys

If you're a backer, there's no need to go hit up the Preorder Store just yet.  We have some limited quantity items that are hidden (knit scarves, fox bandanas) until backer surveys go out.  You'll have access to these goodies when we send out surveys.

We'll be sending surveys after all the credit cards from backers have cleared.  Once that happens, we will preform a smoke test in which 5% of backers across all tier levels will receive surveys.  This will help us determine if there are any problems within Backerkit/the preorder store/surveys.  If this runs smoothly, we will send the rest of the surveys, in descending order of pledge amount. 

When do we expect surveys to be sent?  As mentioned previously, this is pretty much dependent on everyone's credit cards processing correctly through Kickstarter.  As of this update, there is $1094 in unprocessed credit cards pending for this campaign.  

We completely understand that things come up, life happens.  If you are unable to pay for your pledge, please let us know so we can make a note.  

Deadline for payment is Thursday June 18th! At that point, unfunded pledges are dropped by Kickstarter. The reason you *might* be excited to keep your pledge, if you can, is that only these Kickstarter pledges are getting all the free gift stretch goals.  

That said, with this amount of unprocessed cards, we have decided on a new goal for the reprinting of Floral Frolic.  We really need to sell 100 copies in order to reprint.  This will help raise the appropriate funding, as well as alleviate some of the issues that will come with storing a large amount of books. 

We should be receiving sticker samples soon, as well as an update on the Rawra tarot pin.  We'll make another update when this happens.

Hello Everyone,

We wanted to post a small update as we near the end of the Kickstarter campaign.  Firstly, thank you so much for all of your support and enthusiasm this month. C: As we write this, 290 people have decided this Kickstarter is neat! :D And we are incredibly grateful. We are getting to make a whole bunch of stretch goals!!! It’s really awesome! These are stickers, a plush keychain, and tarot themed pins that we thought were on permanent hold until? Don’t know when. So we are really happy to be able to produce this art we’d been dreaming of.

We also want to say thank you to everyone who has spoken and demonstrated this past week. We have both felt inspired to continue on, to vote, to participate. A lot of times, we have felt a sense of hopelessness about the direction of politics and humanity. It feels like we (the United States) have moments of reflection … that lead nowhere. We are reminded again, how long the Black Community has fought for civil rights. It has been a long, multiple generation endeavor, and still the effort continues towards equality … someday. We hope. We are just two artists, one white, one Hispanic. Our work is frequently unstable, access to affordable healthcare is frequently in doubt. We are reminded that if African Americans can continue for so long, to keep insisting for so long, even with no end in sight, that we must be patient also. We all have to show up and participate and vote and continue to try, especially when the opposition is a mixture of infuriating and terrifying. It is frightening, even now, to write this message, and know that some of you may hate it. But that’s how it goes. We must all be safe together, or none of us will ever be safe.

It also is on our minds that the situation continues to change, and we want to remind everyone receiving this update that you’ve presently pledged to this Kickstarter. A day feels like a week, a week feels like 3 months, time is hard to track right now. If the situation has changed for you, and you need to edit your financial commitments, it is okay, and we understand.

If you’re ready to keep going with this Kickstarter, we thank you! C: And we want to show you the pending stretch goals that draw near! :D

~ B A C K E R K I T ~

We’ve heard from a lot of people saying they’re interested in adding pins to some other tier and for that, we are working on putting together with Backerkit!  Backerkit will help us streamline the add on process; when we send out surveys at the end of the campaign, you’ll be able to add whatever extras you would like to your order.  This includes all the items available through Kickstarter, as well as some additional surprises!  We’ll also take preorders from people late to the party, just in case you happen to miss the end of the campaign.. C:

So now on to more Stretch Goals:

The 30000$ goal is to REPRINT FLORAL FROLIC! And looking at it right now, that miiiight? Happen? It’s hard to tell. Floral Frolic will be available through backerkit as an add on, if we are able to reprint it. The difficult thing about Floral Frolic hardcover books is that we’ll be ordering A LOT (in order to get a decent unit price) … so the problem occurs in two parts. The first part is affording it. The second part is storing all the books (when there are no shows to sell them at. We might pursue Amazon.) So we know that 30000$ does feel like an incredibly high goal. We agree that it is. It just might actually take that much to be able to do it. ;_;

Lastly, since everyone has been really excited for enamel pins, we would like to reveal this 32000$ stretch goal.

A continuation of the Major Arcana set!

Everyone has been REALLY REALLY excited for pins so we are happy to make more???? We are glad you think our tarot ideas are cute. :D Strength is a complex pin in two parts, connected by a chain. It will be a gift to all backers at 68$ and up tiers. For those who have followed our art and characters for a while, you might recognize Michal the shiba and his friend Finna, the birb. C: Dogs are crazy, somebody has to reign Michal in. <3 Is Finna strong enough?

…. We also sketched ideas for Temperance and The Devil … we aren’t sure how much new stuff this Kickstarter will fund, but dreams are nice. :D

Stretch Goals Ahoy!

We did it!

Queenie’s funding goal was met in only 30 minutes of day one!  YAY!  This means we can start working our way to funding some awesome new products that wouldn’t be funded otherwise!

As of writing this update, we’ve unlocked 3 Stretch Goals already! Here’s what everyone who is getting a reward will receive!

We had no idea we would reach all three sticker sheet goals in the first day! :D Cari has started painting the Frosty Frolic sticker sheet, here's a wip photo!

Our next goal is the cute little Shiba plush keychain! 

If met, every reward tier that comes with a plush will get one as a thank you!

What’s next? After the keychain, we have some beautiful tarot inspired pins featuring Queenie and Dawnsing that we would love to make. Please check out some preview art below!

There is a Rawra as 'The Star' as well! To be released later as progress is made. c: 

As you can see, we’ve already done a bit of work on them; without shows, we need this Kickstarter to help fund their production!

Speaking of, we’ve had a ton of requests to reprint Floral Frolic’s book. The books we have remaining from the first print run have been set aside for select tiers. If we can reach $30,000, we will be able to do a full reprint, and everyone will be able to add a book to their pledge if they desire.

How? Well, we will be very soon working with Backerkit on this campaign to allow add ons! A lot of clerical work must be done to set this up (and really a lot of the typing is weighing on Cari at this point), so please be patient with us. We’ll make another announcement when Backerkit is up and ready for operation.

In the meantime, we’ve added some new original art tiers. Please check them out! We’ll add the original watercolor painting of Frosty Frolic as a new 650$ tier when it is complete. Stay tuned!
